LETTER OF COMMENDATION FOR KRISTAQ SHABANI AND "PEGASI"
To Whom It May Concern,
From the conception of 100TPC, Kristaq Shabani has shown excellence and inspiration in his
efforts to collaborate with 100TPC by bringing this movement for peace to "Pegasi"
organizations around the world. His respect for poetry and for the arts shines through all of his
events and efforts, and his meticulous documentation and detailing of his events for the
University of Stanford archives offers inspiration to other organizations and individuals around
the world. His commitment to peace, justice and sustainability honors us all. It is with gratitude
that 100 Thousand Poets for Change works with Kristaq Shabani and we look forward to many
years of fine-tuned collaboration in the future.
Let me remind you about the history behind 100TPC and why we are full of gratitude for your
participation:
● 100TPC began in March 2011 as a means to discuss real political, environmental and
social change within the guidelines of peace and sustainability.
● The first 100 TPC event was on September 24, 2011 and was a great success with over
600 events in 95 countries.
● Due to the success of the first year, we were able to hold successful events from
2012-2016, and each year there were nearly 700 events in 100 countries.
Although these victories may seem small to the average person, you know that they are not.
That's why you are organizing, and why support for this artist driven movement for peace and
sustainability continues to strengthen and grow.
Organizers like you responded, and the call to action was so immense that Stanford
University volunteered to archive the 100TPC photos and media and to acknowledge that our
movement is indeed historical. Social networking has empowered our poets and artists to connect
across borders and around the world. In 2015, 100TPC hosted the World Conference which
brought together poets and activists from diverse countries and backgrounds.
We want you to be an active member of our community too. Please visit our website at
www.100tpc.org to sign up for our emails and newsletters. Tweet with us @100tpc. Join our
official page on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/100ThousandPoetsForChangePage And do
watch for invitations to global events every year in September as well as hosting local events
year round.
We will continue to grow and organize for peace and sustainability. September 30th is
our next global event. Please feel free to contact me to register for the event at
walterblue@bigbridge.org . (The new event location blog pages for 2017 will continue to be
archived by Stanford University).
Again, thank you! We commend you on your participation and appreciate all your support in
collaborating with 100TPC. Kristaq Shabani and Pagasi’s dedication to poetry and the arts
reveals itself through their efforts and events and they honor us all with their commitment to
peace, justice, and sustainability.
Best always,
Michael Rothenberg
